In 2022, HTV stations put a special focus on CommUNITY Champions — highlighting people making a difference. In addition to regular news reports, stations continued to produce special programming. Harlem Globetrotters: Play It Forward

Hearst Media Production Group’s Harlem Globetrotters: Play It Forward is a celebration of the 96-year-old franchise that has delighted fans of all ages. Hosted by actor and comedian Craig Robinson, this series brings the Harlem Globetrotters back into the national spotlight by showcasing their talents both on and off the court. In each city they visit, the team finds ways to help the community through volunteerism, mentorship and one-on-one connections that make a lasting impact on everyone they meet.

Mission unstoppable with Miranda Cosgrave

Highlighting the fascinating female innovators who are on the cutting edge of science — including zoologists, engineers, astronauts, codebreakers and oceanographers. Host Miranda Cosgrove profiles female STEM superstars in the fields of social media, entertainment, animals, design and the internet — all categories key to the teen experience.

Six Chix’s Bianca Xunise

Bianca Xunise is part of the six-women team that creates King Features Syndicate’s daily comic strip, Six Chix. Xunise, Isabella Bannerman, Susan Camilleri Konar, Mary Lawton, Marita Patrinos and Stephanie Piro draw on a different day of the week and rotate the Sunday strips. Six Chix aims to bring more women creators and readers to comics.
